For those of you in the market for strollers and infant car seat systems, “B” on the lookout for Britax newest light-weight stroller and infant car seat system:

The new B AGILE stroller and B SAFE infant car seat system looks like it will make for a trusty travel companion. After traveling great distances with an infant myself, I know just how important a product’s ease of use is when you’re on the go. Without a doubt, Britax is top of the line when it comes to reliable baby gear. We’ve tried numerous Britax products and have been satisfied with each and every one of them.

We highly recommend Britax products for their quality and convenience. The one-hand, quick fold option on the new B AGILE stroller will be a Godsend, trust me. Plus, I always feel so tough when I’ve got my latte in one hand and I’m folding my Chaperone stroller in the other. That’s right, people. I feel tough.

Watch for the new B AGILE and B SAFE travel system coming in July 2011.

*The compact B-AGILE weighs less than 17 pounds and can accommodate children from birth to 55 pounds. It is equipped with the integrated BRITAX CLICK & GO system, making it compatible with both BRITAX Infant Car Seats — the new B-SAFE and the CHAPERONE. It also features a no re-thread, five-point adjustable harness system, a one-step linked parking brake and an automatic chassis lock that secures the frame in a folded position.

*The B-SAFE Infant Car Seat features BRITAX Side Impact Protection and can accommodate children up to 32 inches tall and weighing between 4 and 30 pounds. Integrated BRITAX CLICK & GO stroller adapters allow the B-SAFE to work seamlessly as a travel system with the new BRITAX B-AGILE stroller and other strollers in the BRITAX B-Series.

*Information adapted from a press release.

Please read this important information about LATCH systems and installing car seats the proper way (provided by Britax):

Check Your Car Seat Before Starting Summer Travel

By: Sarah Tilton
Britax Child Passenger Safety Advocate
Certified CPS Tech Instructor

Most cars and car seats manufactured after 2002 must have lower anchors and tethers to attach the child seat to the vehicle. While anchorage systems vary, all are designed to minimize the movement of both the car seat and your child in the event of a crash. The Britax LATCH system is easy to install, with release mechanisms that are secure, strategically placed and inoperable by young hands or feet. For details about how to install the LATCH, please watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=larsTDPgHlI&feature=related

Once you secure the anchors, verify that your child’s seat is properly installed by pushing it front-to-back and side-to-side. If the seat does not move more than one inch, the car seat is securely installed in your vehicle.

To be safe, we urge you visit your local Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technician to certify that your child seat is properly installed. To find a CPS near you visit www.safekids.org.

And please drive carefully.

One of the main things on my mind as we prepare for our trips in and out of the country this summer is “How can I make sure my kids are comfortable?“ Because, an uncomfortable kid is a whiny kid and we don’t want whiny kids to spoil a good time. Ouch, did I just say that? ;)

Since we live in a pretty big metropolitan area, we spend an awful lot of time in the car. And since we travel near and far to spend time with family, comfort in the car is key.

We were sent a travel system from Diggity Kids to talk about.

That’s my preschooler (above) using her Diggity Kids Travel Comfort System (shown in Leopard print). She’s sitting on the Keester seat cushion, using the microsuede seat belt cover and getting comfy with the travel neck pillow. Every time we get into the car to go somewhere, she has to get situated and use these products. I’ve often asked her how they’re working out for her and her answer is always, “Really good, mom“.

Before we had this system, I can’t tell you how many times I looked into the backseat and cringed at the way she was resting. Nothing to support her head and neck while she dozed off in the booster seat. So, checking out this travel system was a very good call. She’s comfy and that makes all of us happy.

We’re not only going to use the Diggity Kids travel products in the car. We’re going to put them to good use on our upcoming flights. Five hours on a plane is a bit much for anyone’s bum, so I’m sure she’ll be thanking us for thinking of her comfort on her very first plane ride. We want it to be a memorable one, in a good way. You don’t only have to limit this system to travel, either. We like to go to sporting events and check out the dolphin show at the zoo. Have you ever had to sit on bleachers or cement seats for any length of time? Yeah, not so great. This system is portable enough that you can include it in your diaper bag or underneath the stroller.

You can purchase the complete travel system for around $64.00, which includes; the Keester seat cushion, the seat belt cover and the neck pillow. You can purchase each piece separately, as well.

Diggity Kids Keester seat cushion (MSRP $29.95):

Fits most major car seat manufacturers and made of polyurethane foam with a removable, washable microsuede cover. You can also purchase additional covers for $12.95/ea.

Diggity Kids Seat Belt Cover (MSRP: $14.95):

Made of Polyurethane Foam. Microsuede cover.

Diggity Kids Neck Pillow (MSRP: $23.95):

Machine Sewn & Hand stuffed with Premium memory foam. Microsuede cover is washable and removable.

I don’t think I have to do much convincing. As adults, we’ve used products like these and know how much more comfortable they make any trip. In my opinion, kids deserve that kind of comfort, too.

We were given the Britax Parkway GS Booster Seat to try out this past summer. We have an ever-so-quickly growing 4 year old who more than meets the requirements to ride in a booster seat (just to make that clear). We asked our preschooler what she likes best about the Parkway booster and she said, “The pillows on the sides of my head”. I always ask her if she’s comfortable and her reply is always “yes”.

I feel like she is safe in this booster seat and that matters a lot (obviously). She’s comfortable, which is also great but she also looks secure in the backseat.

I like the safety features of this booster, mainly the True-Side-Impact Protection and the SecureGuard for the seat belt to help keep it in place.

Also, if you’re in the market for an infant carrier; hopefully you also read my post about the Britax Chaperone travel system.

In closing, I just want to say that you can’t go wrong with Britax. The car seats are well worth the money. You can’t beat the safety features and the comfort of the seats. It’s obvious that this company takes kid’s safety in the car very seriously. I have a 4 year old and a 4-1/2 month old and if I had it to do all over again, I would go with Britax. Hands down. I’m not just saying that because they gave me seats to try out. The truth is, you need to make sure your kids are safe in the car and that’s not something to mess around with. If you’re going to spend money on a quality baby or kid product, Britax is definitely the way to go.

This is our new baby, Teagan Reese. She arrived on July 8th and we’ve been knee-deep in babydom ever since. After Teagan arrived, I anxiously awaited the arrival of our new travel collection from Britax, the Chaperone. The Chaperone infant carrier and stroller were sent to us for review by the company.

Even though the new travel collection was gifted to us, I could still say that I’m not happy with it if I truly wasn’t. But truth of the matter is, I can’t say that I don’t like it. I love it and highly recommend it and would have gladly purchased it myself.

Almost four years ago, we were given a hand-me-down infant carrier and stroller of another popular brand. I always complained how uncomfortable my then infant seemed to be in the seat and the stroller, although lightweight and compact, it wasn’t the greatest when it came to steering and rolling on surfaces. But enough about that.

Let’s talk more about the Chaperone. It’s a brand new product from Britax. What we have here is True Side Impact Protection. The infant seat is roomy enough and comfortable (at least it looks comfy). The car seat base has an Anti-Rebound Bar, which was introduced by Britax in 2004. All in all, I’m confident that this car seat is going to protect my little one in the unfortunate event we’re involved in an accident.

Here is the Chaperone stroller that is paired with the infant carrier. There wasn’t an instruction guide with the stroller but my husband was easily able to figure out the assembly and by watching the Chaperone video on the Britax site, I was able to figure out how the carrier works with it and how to fold and unfold it. (I spoke to a Britax rep via Twitter and they’re going to send me the instructions.)

I’m completely thrilled with the stroller. It’s ridiculously easy to push around, one or two-handed. It strolls gracefully over all surfaces (at least the store/pavement/cement/grass surfaces I’ve had it on so far). I could go on and on about the features but you can find all of that information on the Britax site. I’m just here to tell you that if you’re thinking about purchasing this travel system, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Well worth the money and they have a good deal going on right now, $100 off if you purchase the Chaperone infant carrier along with the Chaperone stroller. Not a bad deal at all.
